Lakepoint Church’s first pre-launch gathering was last Sunday, and let me tell you it was a thrill to officially begin! Up until this point its all been dreams and concepts jotted down on scratch paper. Now, we’re moving somewhere!

We want to be a church that helps people connect to Jesus in everyday life through everyday relationships.
We’re going to do a knock out job on the typical church functions – children’s ministry, student ministry, worship, and the like. What I believe we’re going to be known for is being a church that is present and integrated in the social circles of everyday life.
My biggest challenge to all of our early adopters was to form Everyday Circles. You can make and Everyday Circle out of your neighborhood or work relationships. It can also be built around recreation activities, your kids’ extra curricular activities, clubs, public organizations, or something you’ve always wanted to do or start but never had an excuse to.
An Everyday Circle is any social circle that two or more Christians intentionally invest their lives in. Half the time it will take the form of building friendships within the established rhythms of that social circle. The other half the time, it will look like a discipleship group made of followers and seekers of Jesus from that social circle. It’s a faith circle within a social circle, thus the imagery of our logo.
If you’re part of the Lakepoint Launch Community, be discerning this week 1-2 social circles from everyday life that you’d like to intentionally invest in.
If you’d like to jump in on Lakepoint in these early formative months, our next gathering is this Sunday, May 6, 5-7 pm, at Tudor Oaks, S77W12929 McShane Dr., Muskego.

Excellent post, great challenge… rock on.
Thanks Chris. It was great catching up on your efforts in Manhattan while at Exponential!
I haven’t stopped blog stalking you Brian;) I’m really intrigued by the Everyday Circle idea. Is this something you have lead or seen elsewhere?
Brent, glad to hear you’re still interested in watching me learn as I go! “Everyday Circles” are an original title as far as I am aware of. The concept is very parallel to what a few pioneering churches are calling “Missional Communities.” Churches to check out if you’re looking for more references would be Granger Church (Indiana), Soma (Washington), and Rivertree Christian Church (Ohio).
