Not My Will

Discipleship is a rude thing, a painful thing.  Jesus performed two acts one weekend that would forever alter the eternal options of humanity, yet just before it all happened he prayed in all honesty, “I’d really perfer not to do this.”   Have you ever thought about how close we came to having no hope at all?

We have to learn a form of discipleship that buckles up during the decisive moments where our will conflicts with God’s.  There are big turnings in the kingdom of Jesus that we’ll all miss out on if we have not died to self.
